Fruity loops MIDI Controller or Piano Roll?

Do i really need a midi controller or should i use the piano roll





i never used a keyboard to make music

You don't need a MIDI controller. I've used my computer keyboard until I got a 25 Key Novation USB controller, but, its not MIDI. Using a keyboard controller gives you more option like velocity and octaves and timing. Use a USB one though because MIDI can be a bit complicated to work with.
