I like making chrochet bags but i need some trouble-shooting help.
I like the drawstring to double as a handle, and it looks like i should be able to make them close more tightly securely but i'm not sure how.
More islets? Less islets? bigger or smaller loops around islets?
I preffer to just use the weight of the bag (having drawstring double as shoulder strap) rather than a tie, because ties can be hard to get bus ticket and purse out without juggling.
How do i make drawstring bags close more securely?
Fewer eyelets.
Don't space them evenly. Have the distance alternate between short and long with the shorter span on the area that will be under the drawstrings.
Have the knotted ends of the ties/handles augmented with large beads or tassels and close with the knotted ends nearest the bag. Pull on the knots to loosen the closure/opening.
I believe it's a good idea to reinforce shoulder straps with wire, when possible. It makes discovering one is holding a bag-less strap somewhat less likely.
