I'm editing a psychology paper for a friend, but I've gotten hung up on these terms. I haven't had any luck understanding the sites that I've looked at. Could someone please explain them to me in layman's terms? Thanks!
What is efference copy and a negative feedback loop?
A negative feedback loop in biology is like your thermostat and heater. room temp falls to 66 degrees. the thermostat turns on the heater and it raises the temp to 70 degrees, then the thermostat tturns the heater off, he room cools down, the thermostat turns the heater on again to warm up the room.....basically it is a mechanism that keeps a variable close to it's set point. sorry, but I have no ides about effrence copy!
