Did you ever make those potholders out of stretchy fabric loops on square, plastic looms?

I did. My mom and grandma never turned them down when I gave them as Christmas presents, they had drawers full.

I got as far as weaving the elastic strips and then gave up. I have attention issues, and I think those potholders are ugly. My mom and grandma didn't cook unless it was crack so they would've just ended up in the garbage anyway.
Reply:Yes. I made them when I was about 8 and went door to door and sold them 2 for a quarter. That was 52 years ago!!! I got some for Christmas from my granddaughter a couple of years ago. My first "loom" was metal.
Reply:lol yes. In fact, I bought the kit last year so that I could relive my childhood a little with my stepdaughter.
Reply:noooo....i don't "make" things...
Reply:I myself have not made one complete one, but my mother has made many, they last a lot longer than the store bought ones, that is if they make the loom like they used to.
Reply:I did, too, and I still have a few that I love and adore. They really are great since they are thick and last forever!!

HHMMMMMMM....Christmas ideas.....LOL

Sandy :O)
Reply:I think my mom still has a few of them left.
Reply:LOL...I loved making those!! Last Christmas I bought my daughter the loom kit, and now she is as hooked as I was. I warned my mom the other day that those lovely pot holders that I used to make, well they are back! I think that my daughter has mad enough for everyone in our family to have 2 or 3 each.

ahhhh...the memories of childhood!
Reply:no, I didnt grow up in a trailer park
Reply:No but I used to smoke pot!
Reply:Yes, and I remember going door-to-door and selling them for 10 cents each...
Reply:Na, I was too busy playing with the boys to do the girly stuff.
Reply:Yes, I made tons of them.

I guess your in your 30s too. lol
Reply:I did,but I'm not gay.

It was relaxing.
Reply:Oh my goodness. My grandma and mom used to help me make them. We always used such horrible color combinations though. Me and my sister were young though so no one minded.
