it depends on th pants man. im sure of it. i have levis that only have 7 i have some ralphs that have 8 and i have some old ck's that have 6 they are all the same size jeans. it reallly pisses me off too when i have worn levis for several days then put on some other brand and miss a belt loop and wind up looking like a retard all day long.
