How do I tie tassels that have a looped rope coming off the center (tassel) on each side?

I am placing them on sheers to tie them in the center of each window. the tie (in the back) will be visable to the outside and I cant seem to do it without making it look sloppy

How do I tie tassels that have a looped rope coming off the center (tassel) on each side?
If you can physically pull the rope to the back and get the look that you want, take a staight pin and lighly pin the sides of the tieback and a small piece of the curtain together. Make sure that the weight of the tieback is not too heavy and does not stress the shear.

The reason for pinning to the curtain is the keep the tieback stationary so it wont slide down the curtain. No one will see the pin from the outside.
Reply:Are you talking about those drapery tie back things?

You just sort of tuck the one loop in the other. There should be a little tightener type thing on the tie back to hold the loop in place.
Reply:The tie backs that you are using are not meant for what you're trying to do. They are to be used to tie back curtains to the side of a window with one of those drapery hooks. They will not look right no matter what you do.

You might have better luck with the tassels that are on a cord. I'm talking about a cord, thick or thin, that has a tassel on each end.

They make some really pretty ones. All you have to do is draw the curtains together where you want them and tie a bow with the cord and let the tassels hang down on the front of the sheers. From the outside all you will see is the back of the cord. It will not look sloppy from the outside and will look very pretty on the inside.

I did this with four pairs of curtains. I had a window, a set of french doors and then another window all in a row.
